Herbert Smith offers three distinct trainee opportunities:


Open days
These are held at our offices each Spring and are designed to give an insight into working at Herbert Smith. Please see the events section for details.


The vacation scheme placement
This offers a great introduction to being a trainee at Herbert Smith. Over an intensive fortnight, you will be working alongside partners and associates, as well as attending training and presentations, in the heart of the City.


The two year training contract
This offers a very broad range of contentious and non-contentious legal experience – essential to making an informed choice as to where to practise on qualification. During this period you will move between four seats of six months each, with the option of spending at least one on secondment with a client or in one of our overseas offices.
