Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung (HBT) is an Indonesian commercial law firm based in Jakarta. The firm provides high quality and innovative Indonesian legal services to an international standard, based on informed and commercially relevant local knowledge and advice. HBT has five Indonesian partners. In addition, Herbert Smith corporate partners David Dawborn and Brian Scott, as well as three other experienced lawyers are on long-term secondment to HBT, as Senior Foreign Counsel and Foreign Counsel respectively. We have several further fee earners based in Singapore who are part of the Indonesian practice team.
David has advised on a wide range of major transactions and projects in Indonesia since the early 1990s and is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia. Brian has been based in South East Asia, focused on Indonesia-related work, for around six years. He is an experienced corporate transaction lawyer with an excellent understanding of transactions for major international clients in Indonesia.
