It is the first acquisition deal by a foreign lender in Russia's banking sector since the onset of the economic crisis
  • a Japanese conglomerate in relation to the restructuring of shareholder debt of a large (US$4.3 billion) mining project following financial difficulties of its joint venture partner

  • Onexim Group (a holding company of Mikhail Prokhorov) on the split of assets worth US$15 billion jointly held with Interros Group
  • First Quantum on the Marine Facade project in St. Petersburg involving reclamation and development of 470 ha of land in St. Petersburg close to Vasilyevsky island. The project involves development of a cruise terminal, residential premises, office facilities and infrastructure
  • a syndicate of lenders comprising emerging market funds and hedge funds on the groundbreaking project financing of a US$216 million zinc oxide mine in Yemen – the first project finance transaction to close in Yemen. We received Middle East Mining Deal of the Year award in 2008 from Project Finance magazine for this project
