Our Paris team advises French and international firms in the industrial and service sectors, as well as financial institutions, investment banks, investment funds and a number of listed companies.

The office’s 100 lawyers, including 28 partners, are all fluent French and English speakers advising on civil and common law. Most are admitted to the Paris Bar. There is also a small team of lawyers advising on English law, many of whom are dual qualified.

We are involved in all aspects of business law, including in particular:

  • corporate, private equity, M&A and joint ventures
  • banking and finance
  • competition, EU and distribution law
  • real estate/construction
  • energy and infrastructures
  • environment, sustainable development and renewable energies
  • commercial litigation and white collar crime
  • international arbitration
  • IP/IT
  • tax law
  • labour law

The Paris office also houses the core members of Herbert Smith's Africa practice, which advises blue chip companies as well as local governments, primarily on the implementation and financing of energy, natural resources, telecoms and infrastructure projects throughout Africa.

Lawyers work closely with our international network of offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia and with our European alliance firms, Gleiss Lutz and Stibbe.
