Herbert Smith promotes 10 to Of Counsel

Herbert Smith announced today the promotion of 10 senior associates to the position 'Of Counsel' with effect from 1 May 2008.

This year's promotions are:

Philip Beer – Real estate
Jill Chung – Real estate
Charlotte Bijlani – Real estate dispute resolution
Ray Cahill – EU/Competition
Tim Briggs – EU/Competition
John Williams – Corporate
Adam Nell – Litigation
Hayley Evans – Litigation
Morag Peberdy – IP
Kate Brimsted – IP

The promotions will bring the total number of people in the role Of Counsel to 25. Promotion to this position recognises the value they bring to their practice areas and the important role they play within the firm.

Managing partner David Willis said:

The 'Of Counsel' role was created two years ago to provide a viable alternative to partnership for senior associates looking to develop their careers at the firm. The position carries a range of benefits commensurate with the seniority of the role. These include an enhanced salary, bonus and holiday entitlement package.
