New Year, New POCA: a round up of recent money laundering developments

Better known as the Bill that will create the Serious Organised Crime Agency, a body that has been dubbed the ‘UK FBI’, the Serious Organised Crime and Police Bill may also introduce amendments to the Proceeds of Crime Act which will have a significant impact on firms’ money laundering reporting obligations. Whilst the Bill is in its relatively early stages, and therefore further changes are likely before it becomes law, the attached briefing highlights some of the key proposed revisions. We also outline some of the other money laundering developments and Government publications in the last few months.
