Anna Howell

Anna heads our China energy practice and is based in Hong Kong. She has previously worked in Herbert Smith's London and Singapore offices.  Anna has advised on a wide range of international transactions including the development and financing of projects, commercial agreements in the oil, gas (including LNG), mining and power sectors, joint ventures, disposals, acquisitions and restructurings.  Anna also specialises in climate change including renewables and emissions schemes.   Anna has advised on energy deals in various jurisdictions including China, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Russia, England and Europe.

  • Sinopec on the acquisition of petrol stations and petroleum products business in HK for HK$4 billion from China Resources
  • CNOOC in relation to LNG Spot Master Trading Agreements with Suez Global LNG, Total Gas & Power and Shell Eastern LNG
  • PTT Exploration & Production Public Company on its US$820 million purchase oil and gas interests in the Gulf of Northern Thailand from Pogo Producing Company
  • TXU on the £1.37 billion sale of its UK gas and power supply business to E.ON Powergen
  • Gdf on its agreement with Powergas jointly to build and generate Singapore's first LNG terminal
