Charlotte Bijlani is a commercial litigator specialising in property related disputes. She joined Herbert Smith during 2007 from another City law firm where she was a senior associate.
Charlotte regularly advises landlords and developers on an extensive range of property issues and disputes such as rent reviews, dilapidations, break options, rights to light, restrictive covenants, leasehold enfranchisement, compulsory purchase, redevelopment projects and possession claims against business and residential tenants including Rent Act and assured tenants.
Charlotte also has extensive experience in insolvency issues having acted for landlords in connection with tenants in liquidation and administration and claims against former tenants and guarantors.
Charlotte is a solicitor advocate holding full Higher Rights in the Civil Courts and writes regularly for the property press including Property Week.
