Chris Parsons

Chris has been with Herbert Smith for some 25 years.  After his return from Singapore, where he was Herbert Smith’s Managing Partner for South East Asia, his principal focus has been on India and he now chairs Herbert Smith's India Group.  Much of his work is of an international cross-border nature. In addition, Chris is the Graduate Recruitment Partner for Herbert Smith and is also the joint Italian relationship partner for the firm.

  • Bharti on its acquisition of Zain Group's mobile operation's in 15 countries across Africa for an enterprise value of US$10.7 billion. The transaction was the largest ever cross border deal in emerging markets
  • Al-Fayed family trust on the sale of Harrods to Qatar Holdings
  • Essar on its bid for Hutchison Whampoa's interest in Hutchison Essar and its subsequent joint venture arrangement with Vodafone
