Christopher Fanner

Chris Fanner is a partner in the firm's banking and finance division in London.  
 
Although he has broad experience across the full range of debt-focused banking and finance work, he specialises in leveraged buy-outs (LBOs) and other highly leveraged TMT, infrastructure and project financings. For the last 18 years Chris has acted for a number of lead arranging banks, financial institutions, funds, providers of mezzanine finance and other structured debt products (including hedge funds) as well as private equity funds, consortia and corporates.
 
He advises on syndicated lending, leveraged finance (MBOs, MBIs and other LBOs), financing bids for listed companies (P2Ps), mezzanine finance, second lien, high yield structures, PIK structures as well as Propco/Opco structures.

Chris is recognised as a leading practitioner in the Chambers, Legal 500 and Legal Experts directories.

  • ABN AMRO as Mandated Lead Arranger of £250 million term loan and revolving credit facilities to Acteon Group Ltd, a leading worldwide provider of specialised engineering services to the offshore oil and gas industry
  • ABN AMRO in connection with financing £398 million acquisition by Pension Corporation to acquire Telent plc
  • Lloyds TSB and RBS on circa £100 million financing the LBO of well-known restaurant chain Gaucho Grill restaurant chain by Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) and management
  • Nedbank on the project financing for the $600 million Seacom undersea cable connecting South Africa, the East African coast, Europe, the Middle East and India
  • Royal Bank of Canada on the English law aspects of the financing of the £368 million acquisition of Loyalty Management Group (LMG) by Aeroplan Income Fund
  • Royal Bank of Scotland on £168 million bridge equity financing to Vision Capital to assist in the acquisition of Threshers
  • Qatar Investment Authority and UBS Infrastructure Funds Management, a division of UBS AG, on their consortium bid for RWE Thames Water Plc
