Gary Milner-Moore

Gary has a wide range of experience in dealing with commercial disputes of varying sizes, including those with an international dimension. He has worked on cases including large scale complex litigation or arbitration, as well as those involving mediation.

Gary has particular experience of dealing with commercial contract disputes (including those relating to joint ventures), actions in negligence, claims for breach of directors' duties, fraud cases and matters involving economic torts and other forms of secondary liability. Gary also has experience of cases involving insolvency.



Credentials

  • Tajik Aluminium Plant in relation to its major High Court case (including search and seizure orders and freezing injunctions) against a number of alleged fraudsters. The case (including the counterclaim) now involves 18 parties. There is also a parallel and related arbitration.

  • Ernst & Young LLP as administrators of various companies within the TXU Europe group, following the collapse of that group. This involved sizeable disputes within the group, as well as claims against directors and third parties. The claims were ultimately resolved through a company voluntary arrangement.
  • involved in the quantum proceedings for BHP Billiton Petroleum Limited (and others) in relation to its £200million claim against Dalmine SpA concerning the sale of wrongly specified pipe for the Liverpool Bay Development
  • AIG International (South Africa) Inc. against Rand Merchant Bank arising out of a dispute over an agreement concerning gold derivative trading
