Iain has acted for a variety of major institutional and smaller property companies, funds and NHS bodies, and he works principally on structured investment transactions but also has extensive landlord and tenant and general real estate experience.
 
Credentials

  • Carisbrooke on a number of structured investment transactions including the disposal of a large portfolio of properties structured by setting up and distributing properties into eight property unit trusts in Jersey and sale of the units therein, and several other acquisitions and disposals using tax efficient structures 
  • CIT on the purchase of the Brunel Shopping Centre Swindon through a Jersey property unit trust structure
  • The Government of Qatar on the sale of 60 London Wall for over £200million 
  • Hammerson on a number of acquisitions and disposals including the sales of Centennium House and Latham House in London, and advising on its joint venture with Multiplex for the redevelopment of the Cricklewood regeneration area 
  • University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) on the disposal of the Middlesex Hospital site in central London for £175million
  • UCLH on the property aspects of the largest ever PFI hospital project for a new hospital in Central London, including the acquisition of the site and securing vacant possession from occupational tenants through compulsory purchase powers and the exercise of options
  • UCLH on an outsourcing of its housing management operations to a housing association and the associated grant of several long leases of buildings in central London
  • Chancerygate on a joint venture arrangement with Morley for the acquisition, development and letting of a number of industrial estates
  • Chancerygate on the purchase of a portfolio of retail parks from MFI on a sale and leaseback basis
  • Three Delta on the property aspects of the acquisition of the Four Seasons Health Care business
  • Hermes on the sale of a large regional shopping centre and major lettings at one of the country's biggest shopping centres
