James has a wide range of experience in commercial property and property related matters, particularly in relation to development projects, property joint ventures and property funding and security work. James is also a member of the firm’s projects group. His most recent work includes advising on a wide range of UK regeneration and infrastructure projects, including those promoted under the government’s Private Finance Initiative.

- London & Continental Railways Ltd in connection with property aspects of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link including the joint ventures with development partners for the development former railway lands at Kings Cross and Stratford
- acquisition of the former Bankside Power Station by the Tate Gallery and the funding of its development as Tate Modern
- British Land plc in connection with their acquisition of a long leasehold interest in Hamilton House, the last remaining Broadgate building not in their control and the redevelopment of that building
- a number of overseas investors on the acquisition and funding of investment and development properties in England (including Tishman Speyer, CapitaLand and Challenger International)
