Justin D'Agostino
Justin D’Agostino is solicitor advocate specialising in international arbitration and public international law. Currently based in London, Justin has also practised with Herbert Smith from Singapore and Bangkok.
He has acted as counsel and advocate before arbitral tribunals in a number of jurisdictions and has experience in arbitrations under the auspices of institutional rules, such as LCIA, ICC, SIAC and ICSID, and ad hoc under the UNCITRAL Rules. Justin also sits as an arbitrator.
As a member of Herbert Smith’s specialist international law team, Justin also advises state authorities and companies on a range of public and private international law, insurance and regulatory issues. As such, he advises on international law relating to treaties and to the protection of foreign investments, on related insurance claims, on the applicability of international sanctions laws and on proceedings under MLATs (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties).
Justin teaches foreign investment law and international arbitration at the University of London (Queen Mary) on the LL.M course and regularly speaks at seminars and conferences on issues such as international arbitration, the international law of foreign investment and alternative dispute resolution.
