Neil Brimson

Neil Brimson has worked for the firm for over 30 years in London, New York, Paris and, since early 2007, Dubai. He is admitted as both an English Solicitor and Avocat at the Paris Bar.  Neil was managing partner of the Paris office from 1994 to 2002 and subsequently led our Paris projects group.  He now heads up our Middle East practice.

Throughout his career, Neil has been a projects lawyer in the widest sense, handling a broad range of corporate, contractual and finance transactions, mainly in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. His practice has focused primarily on major energy and infrastructure transactions.

Neil was President of the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce & Industry between 2002 and 2004.

  • Jumeirah Capital and Iskandar Investment (Khazanah Group) on the first phase of the master plan development of the Iskandar region of Malaysia. The total area of the development is approximately three times the size of Singapore
  • Hanna Shaikh Holding on the proposed multi-billion port development project on Al Faw Peninsula in Iraq
  • EFG-Hermes Private Equity on the acquisition of an interest in an onshore oil field at North Bahariya, Egypt
  • ONGC Videsh on various acquisitions of upstream assets in Nigeria, Egypt and Syria
  • ONGC Mittal Energy on the acquisition of major upstream petroleum interests, offshore Nigeria
  • Eurotunnel on numerous aspects of the £10 billion Channel Tunnel Project over a period of 20 years, including Eurotunnel's debt and equity funding arrangements and successive restructuring operations
  • Tullow Oil/Energy Africa on a major joint venture in Gabon and on a series of financings of its upstream investments in the Gulf of Guinea, including the US$100 million debt and equity development financing of its interest in the Nkossa Field, offshore Congo
