The environmental and health and safety practice draws on a wide body of expertise within the firm to provide risk management advice and solutions to meet the ever-increasing requirements of our clients.

We provide a wide range of stand-alone advice on issues as diverse as the implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive and directors' liabilities under environmental and health and safety law across a broad range of industries operating both in the UK and internationally. We are also involved in a number of high-profile projects internationally and in the UK including a  petrochemicals project in Saudi Arabia valued at between $4-6 billion.

Our pre-eminent litigation department deals with both litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters concerning environmental issues.  The breadth of our practice includes contract disputes, judicial review and public and private international law. 

Our clients come from a range of industries and sectors and vary from multinational energy companies to government departments. Examples include, BAA, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Regional Development Northern Ireland, Sumitomo Chemical, Johnson Matthey and British American Tobacco.

We work with our counterparts in alliance firms Gleiss Lutz and Stibbe to provide a pan-European practice. Through our international offices we also advise clients in Africa, China and the Far East and the Middle East. We provide a cross-border service to UK and overseas clients, particularly from the US.
